House Advances Key Accredited Investor Reform
With strong bipartisan support (397-12), the House has passed the Fair Investment Opportunities for Professionals Act (H.R. 3394), led by Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill (R-Ark.).
The bill would expand accredited investor eligibility to individuals with certain licenses, education, or job experience, broadening access to alternative investments and supporting capital formation. The IPA identified this legislation as a top priority during Capitol Hill Day at IPASummit this past May.
We thank Chairman Hill, House leadership, IPA members, and partners for advancing this key policy initiative.
Two related bills, Rep. Bill Huizenga’s (R-Mich.) Accredited Investor Definition Review Act and Rep. Mike Flood’s (R-Neb.) Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act, await House floor consideration.
The IPA will continue working with Congress to move accredited investor reform forward in the Senate.
