IPA Discusses Capital Formation and More with SEC
IPA’s president and CEO, Anya Coverman, and government affairs staff have been busy on the regulatory front advocating for the alts industry. On July 15, the IPA met with senior staff in SEC’s Division of Corporate Finance to discuss policy avenues for boosting capital formation.
IPA last week also met with Chairman Paul Atkins’s senior staff, Commissioner Hester Peirce and counsel for Commissioner Mark Uyeda to closely examine the IPA’s policy priorities, such as expanding the accredited investor standard. We continue to advocate that financial sophistication and acumen – not simply income and net worth thresholds – should provide additional pathways for individuals to qualify as accredited investors.
Additionally, IPA staff has met with nearly a dozen Congressional offices since July 4 to advocate for accredited investor expansion and other capital formation policies.
We are making progress toward our policy goals that will bolster the alts industry and are grateful for our members’ ongoing advocacy and support.
