House Passes INVEST Act; IPA Referenced in Committee Statement
Late last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Incentivizing New Ventures and Economic Strength Through Capital Formation (INVEST) Act, a bipartisan legislative package focused on expanding capital formation and modernizing investor access.
In announcing passage of the bill, the House Financial Services Committee referenced the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) and included a statement from IPA President & CEO Anya Coverman, underscoring the bill’s potential to expand responsible investor access, support entrepreneurial growth, and strengthen retirement outcomes while maintaining core investor protections.
The INVEST Act includes several provisions aligned with IPA’s long-standing policy priorities and reflects continued congressional interest in advancing pragmatic, pro-growth capital markets reforms.
IPA will continue to engage with policymakers as the legislation advances to the Senate and will provide updates as next steps develop.
